"'Breaking The Fourth Wall' by Beecher" by Bill Vogel III
Friday, October 14, 2005 A.D.
In the ever unfolding expansion of Metal music, few styles have remained as exciting and vibrant as Extreme Metal has. This hybrid form has a great deal of diversity. A new powerhouse in the genre is the phenomenal Beecher. Their 2005 opus, "Breaking The Fourth Wall" [Earache Records], is a blistering fusion of Swedish Death, Industrial, Grindcore, and Melodic Metalcore.
Beecher is harsh and dynamic-frenzied blasts of fiery rhythms hammer together with intense guitar fury. Shrieking growls are the staple, highlighted with clean vocal melancholy. Samples add a twisted edginess to this caustic assault. This is experimental D.I.Y. Hardcore at work, and succeeding in bloody spade.
The best cuts include the volatile "Burning Surface," "Red Diesel," "Dead For Weeks," and the riotous stomp of "Let Them Drown." Beecher is pure hostility.
In summary, Beecher has a primal brilliance that surpasses the rest. Stay savage. Farewell.

"Summer's End (Self-Titled)" by Bill Vogel III
Friday, October 07, 2005 A.D.
The best new band 2005 has to be the ferocious Summer's End. Their self-titled debut, out on Hand Of Hope Records, is a catchy and brutal combination of Metalcore and Melodic Swedish Death Metal. Summer's End has a sound that grabs you by the guts and just won't let go.
Thrash fury adds extra edge, but Summer's End bleeds pure intensity. Highly skilled guitar solos crawl across roaring blasts and tight rhythms. The vocals are shrill, fiery growls. The result is a dark style of sheer, caustic beauty.
They have achieved aggressive perfection. Dark and brutal: brilliant barely scratches the surface of their greatness.
Summer's End is simply, incredibly stunning. This nine song opus features three killer songs that are live tracks. The best cuts include the savage glory of "Haunting Hollowed Graves," "Walking The Night," the powerful rumble of the epic "Through My Blood (Live)," and "Long Time Dead." The cut "Headwound" features a guest appearance by Michale Graves of MISFITS and GOTHAM ROAD fame....
Summer's End is brutally excellent.
In conclusion, Summer's End is an amazing band. Their dark brilliance is astounding. Stay savage. Farewell.
