"'Fallout' by Slumber" by Bill Vogel III
September 27, 2005 A.D.
There is no sleep here. Slumber creatively fuses beauty and aggression with their unique type of Melodic Gothic Death Metal. Both sublime and severe, their 2005 opus titled "Fallout" [Candlelight Records] is a mesmerizing assault of gloomy radiance.
Growled vocals roar through the tenebrous euphony of guitars and keyboards. The rhythms are ethereal, bleak and pure. It's a moody, sublime experience. Some female, angelic vocals are used as well. Slumber is a melancholy assault of glorious darkness.
The most memorable cuts include "Rapture," the somber intensity of "Fallout," "Dreamscape," and the stark ode "A Wanderer's Star." Slumber is beautifully bleak, serene, and severe.
Overall, Slumber is a worthy addition to the gathering darkness of Gothic Death Metal. Stay savage. Farewell.
