"'Suspended Animation Dreams' by Subterranean Masquerade" by Bill Vogel III
September 13, 2005 A.D.
Experimental and esoteric, Subterranean Masquerade is a Death/Neo Classical Metal meltdown. Their 2005 opus, "Suspended Animation Dreams" [The End Records], is a strange fusion of diverse styles. They're equally cool and weird.
Subterranean Masquerade
Elements of Death Metal, Neo Classical, Gothic, and even some Jazz come into play here. Expansive, winding epics are the norm here. Clean, sorrowful vocals interplay with growls. Some female, angelic vocals are used as well.
The best cuts are "X," the rumble of "Wolf Among Sheep," and "Awake." Subterranean Masquerade is more atmospheric than aggressive.
Overall, Subterranean Masquerade is twisted killer. Stay savage. Farewell.
Related Bands: Antimatter, Lacuna Coil, Therion, After Forever, etc.
Keep the faith, and the AGGRESSION.
