"'Karma And Effect' by Seether"
by

July 5, 2005 A.D.

The last of the great Grunge Metal bands, South Africa's own Seether, has gracefully murdered their sophomore jinx. Their 2005 opus, "Karma And Effect" [Wind-Up Entertainment], is a solid, powerful dropkick to the face. No gimmicks, no frills: this is just Seether doing what they do best.

Seether uses a raw, reverb drenched guitar style with a cut-down approach. The vocals have gravel-roughed edginess that on a rare occasion bursts into Aggro Metal growls. The hooks are catchy, and the rhythms have a loose intensity in their riotous progression. Seether is simply killer....

The best of these primal wonders includes the dark, moody ferocity of "Given," "Worlds Fall Away," the bleak acoustically tinged "Never Leave," "The Gift," and "Simplest Mistake." Seether is a pleasant, and powerful diversion from today's Metal trends.

Change is good.

In cataclysmic summary, Seether has released one of the BEST of 2005 with "Karma And Effect." This one is destined to be a karma classic. Stay savage. Farewell.

Keep the faith, and the AGGRESSION.
