"'Of Love And Lunacy' by Still Remains"

From the shadows rises Still Remains, a Metalcore/Melodic Death Metal powerhouse. Their 2005 opus, "Of Love And Lunacy" [Roadrunner Records], is a molten fusion of Metalcore intensity and Melodic Swedish Death Metal aggression. While this style seems to be the burgeoning trend, Still Remains stands in the forefront with the likes of the greats All That Remains and Summer's End. These bands are the apex models of this style.

Shrill growls are juxtaposed against clean vocals. Epic, melodious grooves push the aggression forward in a hellish charge. Some keyboards are lightly used for contrasting dynamics. Still Remains is unique, and amazing.

The best of these razor-sharp wonders includes the sublime savagery of "White Walls," "Stare And Wonder," "To Live And Die By Fire," "Worst Is Yet To Come," and the divine fury of "Recovery." Still Remains has a dark beauty that is like a revelation, and a revolution.

In conclusion, Still Remains is extremely euphonious Metalcore/Melodic Death Metal with an epic edge. This one is a BEST of 2005. Stay savage. Farewell.
