"'The Light Of Things Hoped For' by Brave Saint Saturn" by Bill Vogel III
June 16, 2004 A.D.
The new band Brave Saint Saturn makes a pretty solid form of Techno/Alternative Hardcore. Their 2003 opus, "The Light Of Things Hoped For" [Tooth & Nail Records], has a rollicking sense of energy and Punk Rock snarl.
Brave Saint Saturn uses a clean vocal style, which interweaves nicely with their scaled-down rhythms. Techno keyboards and samples add a tricked-out feel to their skeletal, yet catchy guitar stomp. Brave Saint Saturn keeps it simple, but good.
The most notable tracks include "I Fell Away," the trippy anti-love power-ballad "Enamel," "Heart Still Beats," the surreal ambient cut "Atropos," the acoustic tinged "Binary," and "Daylight." Brave Saint Saturn is aptly spacey, and cool.
While Brave Saint Saturn isn't revolutionary, they have a good sound that will certainly please devotees of this hectic genre. So get your blessings in.... Stay savage. Farewell.

Keep the faith, and the AGGRESSION.
