"'Extended Mental Dimensions' by Within Y"

Powerful and melodic, Within Y cuts a resplendent path of epic brutality. Their 2004 release, "Extended Mental Dimensions" [Candlelight Records], is an eccentric fusion of monstrous ferocity and extreme progressiveness. It's stark, jagged, and catchy as hell.
Within Y creates Melodic/Technical Swedish Death Metal, with an Experimental edge. Hook was not sacrificed for speed here, amazingly. Shrill growls nail together frenzied rhythms with precision brutality. Within Y is surgical, and harsh.
The best of these vicious glories includes "Silently Leaving," the surreal violence of "Remains Of A Shattered Illusion," "Face Down," "Behold," and the fierce malevolence of "Lost In Solitude." Within Y destroys in a blinding roar of excellence.
Overall, Within Y is wildly cool with a unique brilliance that is dark genius. Stay savage. Farewell.

"100 Demons (Self-Titled)"

In the current maelstrom of Death Thrash (Deathrash) and Melodic Death Metal, the band 100 Demons is a welcome and outstanding change. Their self-titled 2004 opus, released by Deathwish Inc. Records, is Powercore/Death Metal with a Hardcore sensibility. It's brutal, catchy, and D.I.Y. as a razorblade kiss.
Viciously efficient, 100 Demons amalgamates Metalcore, Florida Death Metal, and Powercore into a caustic assault of precision hostility. Tight, bombastic blasts of guitar rip through the beautiful chaos. The sharply growled vocals crown the maelstrom perfectly. 100 Demons is fiercely cool.
The best of the murderous epics includes the fiery dread of "Destiny Never Cames," the powerful assault "Lord Have Mercy," "Dying In My Own Arms," and "Never Surrender Virtue." 100 Demons is pure, enthralling aggression without mercy.
In summary, 100 Demons is pure, aggressive brilliance. This is Death Metal brutality fused with Hardcore sensibility. Stay savage. Farewell.
